This is an altered replica of William Wetmore Story's Angel of Grief. He was a celebrated American Sculptor and in 1885 he moved to Rome, Italy. He was born in Salem, Mass. in 1819 and died at the home of his daughter in Rome in 1895. The original Angel of Grief monument stands in a Protestant cemetery in Rome, marking the grave of the artist and his wife.
In the picture below, you can see how customers used this monument on their child's grave. This is a very unique way to use an of the Angel of Grief cemetery monument.
